Celebrating My Book’s One-Year Anniversary!

Published by

on

I have been extremely blessed this past year in all of Bella’s endeavours, and wanted to take a little time to review the highlights of the past year. I owe a very heartfelt thank you to all the readers, gift shops, reviewers, and libraries that have given Bella a warm and loving welcome.

I thought it would be fun to share some of the work in the production phase from March, 2022. Pictured above are a couple of before and after illustrations. My how time flies!

Thanks to my publishing team

A shout out to everyone who helped make publishing my book possible. Trilogy Christian Publishing, their project manager and design team. My wonderful editor, and marketing mentor who put up with my being green in the field of publishing. As well as my wonderful family and friends who provided encouragement along the way.

Fun Fact – the electronic version was published in full-color! The Trilogy design team captured my ideas beautifully. The colors were so vibrant that publishing only a black and white print edition did not sit well with me. I’m so glad we made the decision to publish the electronic version capturing the beauty of the illustrations!

Thanks to my readers

I was overwhelmed by all of the wonderful reviews written on behalf of Bella and our story. I am grateful for the thoughtfulness of those who posted on Amazon, and fellow author’s gracious enough to publish a review on various websites and blogs.

Especially heart warming, were the little one’s who were not shy about telling me their thoughts about Bella at the in person book events. I cannot forget the first book I signed, “Bella,” and to this day when I am asked to address a book with that name, I am flooded with emotions.

I’ll admit at first I was shy about collecting, or asking for reviews, it was both scary and exciting at the same time. The icing on the cake for an author is when someone reads what we wrote, gives the story praise, and shares the positive message. This is energizing for me as an author and provides encouragement to continue writing. (look for more on a sequel in the coming months)

As an author, and your friend, I value what you have to say, and its never too late to post a review!

Thanks to the gift shops, retreat centers, and libraries

As a first-time publisher seeing my book online was amazing, but there is a different emotion that takes over my soul when I see my book on the shelf and can touch it. I want to thank the Jesuit Retreat Center, Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine, the Butterfly House, Beech Creek Gardens, and the Independence Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library. Having Bella on your shelves and participating in your events has meant more to me than you know.

Thanks to my writer friends

I have learned so much from my colleagues in the world of writing. Many whom I have only met virtually. The marketing success, cross promotion opportunities, and friendships I have made over the last year have been amazing! Thank you to Catholic Mom, Catholic Writer’s Guild, and Inspire Christian Writers for believing in me and allowing me to write for the Glory of God!

Highlights?

I’m not sure where to begin or what stands out among the many wonderful moments of this past year. The joy I feel when God sends me to an event where I can share my love for Jesus through this book is overwhelming.

My first book signing was in itself a gift from God. Only two weeks after Bella’s release, I had my initial book signing at the Butterfly Release Celebration held by Beech Creek Gardens. God gave me His Yes! I know there was no better place to release a book about a caterpillar, than at a butterfly party.

Each book signing had its own set of highlights, conversations with parents about the need for Christian books for youth top my list. The smiles on the faces of the little one’s, and the blessings through new friends warmed my heart.

There are countless moments I could capture here, but you would stop reading and miss out on my gift to you!

Present this coupon at any book signing between September 16th through November 30th and receive $5.00 off your purchase. Click here for a full listing.

Not local? No problem. Amazon currently has the book 14% off!

THANK YOU!
